Blackened Ahi Tuna Sliders with Yuzu Pickled Hot House Cucumber and King’s Hawaiian Lava BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz Ahi Tuna “Sushi Grade Block”
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons King’s Hawaiian® Lava Sauce
  • 1 12-pack King’s Hawaiian® Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
    Yuzu Pickled Cucumber:
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 4 oz hot house cucumber, sliced ¼-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons yuzu juice
  • 4 pieces chili flakes
  • ½ cup white wine vinegar
  • Dash of sea salt

Preparation:

Yuzu Pickled Cucumber Preparation:

STEP 1

In a small bowl mix all ingredients and let sit for 4 hours, refrigerated.

Slider Preparation:

STEP 1

Heat canola oil in a non-stick sauté pan over medium heat.

STEP 2

Completely dust Ahi Tuna block with Cajun seasoning and quick sear for 10 seconds on each side.

STEP 3

Place seared Ahi Tuna block in refrigerator to cool. Slice into ¼-inch thick slices.

STEP 4

Slice King’s Hawaiian rolls in half and toast with unsalted butter.

STEP 5

On bottom bun, place pickled cucumbers, then two slices Ahi Tuna and ½ teaspoon Lava Sauce.

STEP 6

Place the top bun on and enjoy.
