King’s Hawaiian Smoked Bacon BBQ Pulled Pork Slider

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 pounds pork shoulder or butt, cut into 3x3-inch cubes
  • 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup King’s Hawaiian® Smoked Bacon BBQ Sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 10 peppercorns
  • 1 12-pack King’s Hawaiian® Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
    Pickled Red Onion:
  • 2 red onions
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil

Preparation:

Pickled Red Onion Preparation:

STEP 1

Slice red onion and sauté in a large sauté pan on medium heat with canola oil.

STEP 2

When onions are cooked add sugar and red wine, simmer until liquid is dissolved.

Slider Preparation:

STEP 1

Season pork on all sides with seasoning salt, crushed pepper, dried oregano, cumin and chili powder and place in medium size pan. Cover with ½ cup BBQ sauce, broth, bay leaves and peppercorns until pork is ¾ covered with liquid.

STEP 2

Cover pan with foil and bake 4 hours at 325 degrees.

STEP 3

Shred pork with remaining ½ cup BBQ sauce and keep warm.

STEP 4

Slice King’s Hawaiian rolls in half and toast with unsalted butter. Build slider with BBQ pork, then pickled onions.

STEP 5

Serve hot and enjoy.
